🌧️🐾 Golden Chaos & April Showers: An Easter Carrot Hunt to Remember
There’s something beautifully unpredictable about Easter in April — one minute the sun is shining, and the next, you're sprinting through your garden, dodging raindrops and chasing a soggy golden retriever puppy through the flower beds. And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
This year’s Easter celebration turned into a wonderfully muddy, wiggly, carrot-filled adventure. And right at the heart of it all? Our golden girl, Violet — a walking marshmallow with floppy ears, a heart of gold, and absolutely no regard for staying clean.
🐰 The Soggy Setup
Despite the rain showers, we went ahead with the plan: a garden Easter hunt designed just for Violet, complete with colorful plastic eggs, toy carrots, and — surprise twist — a squeaky duck toy hidden in the herb patch.
Eggs and carrots were scattered through the garden: tucked beneath bushes, perched in planters, and half-hidden under flower pots. The clouds were threatening, but Violet didn’t care — she was already nose-deep in tulips before we even said “Go!”
🥕 Carrots, Zoomies & One Determined Pup
With the rain misting overhead and the garden smelling like spring, Violet bounded from egg to carrot with pure joy in every pawstep.
- She proudly retrieved her first carrot like it was the crown jewel of the garden.
- Immediately dropped it.
- Then pounced on a nearby duck toy and took off zooming in circles like it owed her money.
By the time she reached the third carrot, she was absolutely soaked. Fluffy ears dripping, tail wagging like a flag in the wind, and mud everywhere — especially on her once-white paws. We tried to towel her off mid-hunt… she said “no thanks” and dove straight into the rosemary bush in search of more treasures.
🌼 Messy. Magical. Totally Worth It.
By the end of the hunt, Violet had:
- Found 3 carrot toys
- 1 squeaky duck toy
- Dug 3 surprise holes
- Been towel-dried approximately 5 times
- And brought us about 1000% joy
Was it perfect? No.
Was it clean? Absolutely not.
But was it the most heartwarming, hilarious, and wholesome Easter we’ve ever had? Without a doubt.
