Today we did some jobs during the morning at Les Parmeries as my Dad is staying with us in the beautiful village of Carlux, late morning we decided to jump on our electric bicycles and set off on one of the most scenic and enjoyable cycling adventures in the Dordogne. Just a short ride away on the Voie Verte, the picturesque greenway that runs through the valley, is Lidentique in Carsac-Aillac—a perfect spot for a sun-drenched outdoor lunch.
🚲 Setting Off from Carlux
Carlux is perched on a gentle slope above the Dordogne Valley. The easiest way to join the Voie Verte is by descending into the valley toward Rouffillac, where the greenway crosses. From here, you’ll cycle westward toward Carsac, enjoying a smooth, mostly flat ride.
This stretch of the Voie Verte is a gem: shaded by trees, bordered by meadows, and dotted with old stone railway bridges. It’s peaceful, quiet, and ideal for a leisurely cycle.
🍷 Arriving at Lidentique in Carsac
After about 45 minutes of relaxed cycling (roughly 6–7 km), you’ll reach Carsac-Aillac, a welcoming village with fountains, stone houses, and blooming gardens in spring and summer.
Tucked just off the main street is Lidentique, a lovely restaurant with outdoor seating. Grab a table on the terrace, where you can relax in the sun or under a shady parasol.
